I have been a guidance counsellor to youth for around 15 years. I can help you to explore your options though values work, finding your strengths and the things that you could strengthen more, and keep you grounded as you do so. Your chosen career path is a reflection of where you want to go and what you want to accomplish in your lifetime. However, due to physical, mental, economic, familial, or emotional limitations, among others, it is possible that you may feel you are unable to work towards your desired career path. Additionally, it is possible that you may be unaware of what your career path might be. In career therapy, we will explore your interests, desires, strengths and challenges, your spirituality, education level and social, political or economical limitations, to discover what work might be meaningful, suitable and fruitful for you. We will then create a plan to work towards your desired career path.

There can be a lot of pressure to figure out one’s career or to decide where one fits within a particular field. Oftentimes this is a winding road rather than a straight route. Within therapy, I will support you in identifying and exploring the values, goals, interests, and passions most important to you so that you can make decisions about your career that feel right to you. I will also work with you to process possible obstacles along the way such as (and certainly not limited to) challenging work dynamics, stress and burnout, and difficulties finding a work/life balance.
