There's an expression "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts". Healthy individuals make up healthy families. One individual in the family affects other parts of the family - just as one affected part of our body can affect the other parts of our body. With so much chaos and struggle happening outside of the home, it is so important that the home be stable, safe and a "sanctuary." It is a comfort to have an objective third person in the mix to coach and encourage new patterns and different ways to work through differences and experience healthier happier relationships.

Kara and Trisha are both Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists. Working from a systems approach, we focus on the family unit and how the relationships impact each individual and the family itself. As a Marriage and Family Therapist I believe that family therapy can be extremely beneficial in resolving conflicts within a family system. I look at the entire family system and each person's role in the family. Then we work together to make changes and resolve issues. Family therapy creates an atmosphere where each member can feel safe expressing their feelings and concerns surrounding the presenting issue. There are many reasons a family may decide to start family therapy; such as major life transitions (marriage, divorce, relocation, death of a loved one), abuse, serious illness in family, trauma (car accident, fire, natural disaster), sibling conflict, and parent-child conflict.
