Family therapy focuses on understanding and improving the dynamics within a family system. In our work together, I help family members explore their relationships, communication patterns, and individual roles within the family unit. Using a collaborative approach, I create a safe space for each person to express their feelings, concerns, and perspectives. By fostering open communication, empathy, and mutual understanding, we can address conflicts, build stronger connections, and work toward healthier family dynamics. Family therapy can provide profound healing, as it encourages growth not only for the individual but for the entire family system.

In family therapy the issues are clarified, and then the importance of mutual respect and understanding of the needs of each member is emphasized. I help families members collaborate with each other to set up basic rules and chore assignments, and then work out appropriate consequences for violations. Each member of the family is to become aware of the fact that he/she has an important function in the family dynamics.

I am a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and am completing a Ph.D. in Marital and Family Therapy. I focus on building stronger relationship attachments by helping you communicate emotions. I have advanced training in experiential approaches to family therapy (Gestalt therapy and emotionally-focused therapy)--this just means I help facilitate greater emotional contact between family members.
