Family & Friends Webinar for Eating Disorders
Description: This educational webinar is designed to provide key information regarding eating disorders, that can be helpful for any support person (e.g. extended family members, spouses, parents, coaches, family friends, friends, teachers etc) to be aware of. Consider this an Eating Disorders 101 seminar. Sue Huff, facilitator, will cover basic information you would want your family and friends to know about eating disorders including: brain science and biology related to eating disorders, dispelling myths about eating disorders, how to help (what is and isn''t helpful) and tangible ways to offer support to a family struggling with an eating disorder.

When: Held on the first Sunday of the month from 10:00am - 12:00pm online, via Zoom.
Dates for 2022: July 3rd, August 7th, September 4th, October 2nd, November 6th, Dec 4th.
Cost: $25 for first person, $15 for each additional friend/family member
Schedule: 90 minutes of information / education, 30 minutes Q & A Period.
About the Facilitator: Sue is a trained family peer support worker and caregiver coach who has lived experience as a parent of a child in recovery from Anorexia. She is also the former Executive Director and a founding member of the Eating Disorder Support Network of Alberta and the author of a book on families overcoming eating disorders. Sue is trained in emotion focused family therapy and found this skill to be enormously helpful as a parent. Sue understands the rollercoaster of emotions parents face when their child has an eating disorder, because she has "been there, done that." Sue says she feels honoured to walk beside other parents on this journey.
