I am passionate about seeing individuals and couples thrive throughout various stages of life. With a variety of knowledge, experience, and a desire to meet you where you are at; individually in your relationships, or as a family. My counselling sessions will be a safe and confidential space for you; or for you and your partner to understand your relationship; or as a family, coming together and having space to discuss challenges you may be encountering.
Here is how I can help you:
Couples:
I provide counselling through an experiential approach, which relies on the theory of attachment and having our needs met. Emotionally Focused Therapy is the gold standard in couples therapy; this approach strengths the emotional bond between couples and helps to improve the relationship. Couples not only learn how to respond differently to one another, but they also grow the bond that connects them on a deeper and long-lasting level. I am passionate about holding hope for couples to stay together and improve their relationship, rather than looking for separation as an option.
Individuals:
I also help individuals understand themselves, improve their relationships and find healing from the past also through an attachment lens. Through focusing on and processing emotions, new and healthier patterns of interaction can take place. Clients notice that they are better able to manage challenging situations through understanding themselves and how they respond to other.
Families:
When working with families, my counselling helps them to understand the dynamics of the family and have a safe space to discuss struggles and improve interactions with one another.
You will find me warm, caring and compassionate. I have a wide breadth of experience relating to both professional and personal experiences, all of which influence my responses in the counselling room.
