I believe the "fit" or connection, is crucial for successful therapy. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental setting which fosters clarity and insight and creates the conditions for growth and healing. I use a relational and developmental approach but am able to work from a different perspective when conditions call for one. I am experienced in helping people, young and older, individuals and families, with their thought processes as they encounter the difficulties and challenges of life.
I also have many years experience working with adolescents and elementary age school children. I care very much about young people who are in distress and feel that my professional and life experience has enabled me to be particularly attuned to their feelings, needs, and pain. I am proficient in psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral counseling, family and educational systems, and individual issues such as ADHD, anger and relational difficulties, and blended/step/single family issues.
