I am happy you stopped by to see if we will be a good match for therapy! Here is a little about my process, so you can better determine how I can help support you.

Licenses:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency counselor in Texas. I have been in practice since 2016 and have over 8 years experience. I am also licensed to treat clients virtually in the state of Colorado.

Where do you practice?
You have the option to see me in sessions IN OFFICE (far north dallas/plano area) OR virtually. I am licensed to see people across the whole state of Texas and the whole state of Colorado.

What ages do you see?
I see ages 11+. I do not see young children as they require a special approach. My experience has primarily been with teens and young adults (18-40). If you fall outside of this age range, I can absolutely still treat you.

What methods do you use?
I use talk therapy, from a "person centered" approach. That just means I honor your experiences and believe that building solid relationships with my clients is how we get work done. I also use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Its optional, but can be valuable for clients who have significant trauma.

What issues do you treat?
While I have experience treating a wide range of issues and am comfortable with many areas, here is what I treat often. Addiction
Substance/Alcohol use
Sex Addiction
PTSD/trauma
Betrayal trauma
Anxiety
Family issues
Marital issues

Do you just work with individuals?
Nope! I see couples and families too. I am trained to work with couples from the Gottman Method and love this work. I have worked with families in my office for many years as well.

Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
All are welcome! I am an advocate & ally for the LGBTQ+ community. I am also Poly/Kink friendly and have experience in treating this diverse population

Do you bring religion into therapy?
No. I do not counsel from a religious standpoint at all. I believe religion and spirituality are a deeply personal choice for each client and if this is something that is critical in your life, you are welcome to bring it to session and I'm comfortable talking about it with you. Otherwise, it stays out of the counseling experience all together.

Where did you go to school?
I received my masters of science in counseling from Southern Methodist University right here in Dallas.  I graduated the program in 2017. Prior to that, I received a dual undergrad in Psychology and Human Development & family studies from Colorado State University.

What experiences have you worked in?
Prior to moving into private practice, I've worked in residential treatment centers for substance use and intensive outpatient centers for substance use as well. I was the Director of these programs for several years so I understand that world. I've also worked in private clinics seeing couples and individuals. You are welcome to ask me more if you'd like to know.

Do you take insurance?
No. Though, if your specific plan has Out of Network mental health benefits, you MAY be able to get reimbursed. You just need to ask me for a "superbill" and you'll need to submit it to your insurance. All plans are a little different and you will need to call yours to see.

What are your fees?
Each session for an individual is a $180 investment, and a $200 investment for couples or families. Standard sessions are 50 mins, though I am able to offer 60, 75, or 90 min sessions at the same rate/min mentioned above.

How long is treatment?
This really depends on each person's unique needs. I often recommend starting out weekly to establish consistent care and relationship as your provider. Sometimes if needed, I can see someone 2-3 x weekly if they need the additional support or are experiencing heightened symptoms. Often times my clients stick around for a while but as they work to maintain their progress, they find they need sessions less and less over time.

Anything else I didn't answer?
I am happy to offer you a FREE 15 min consultation. Once you read all through the bullets and still have remaining questions, I would be more than happy to give you the time you need to get your questions answered. Should you want to schedule after reading through, I'd love to get you in. If at any point, I find I am not the best fit for your needs based on the training/experience I have, I am committed to helping you find the care you deserve.
