Hi there, my name is sean. My clients typically find me to be compassionate, understanding, patient, and above all able to show up as the therapist they need me to be in that moment. My professional history includes making the honors society while working on my masters in mental health counseling, working at a substance-abuse treatment facility, acting as the lead therapist and program director for a residential mental health program focused on treating trauma, and the most recent incarnation has been my own private practice, which has been operating for several years now. I have been practicing psychotherapy for roughly 6 years.
Before I became a psychotherapist, however, I struggled with my own mental health issues including substance abuse, PTSD and unresolved trauma, anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. On my own healing journey I discovered a passion for helping others heal as well. I no longer suffer from any of these or any other mental health issues. I am a living testament to the fact that you don’t have to keep struggling under the weight of your own issues, I can help you completely heal from them. I specialize in the areas I personally struggled with in the past, but I have a lot of experience working with other issues as well.
Some clients who previously experienced in person therapy sometimes hesitate before trying a virtual platform. Since transitioning to a fully virtual practice I have adapted my therapeutic techniques to function as well as they previously did in person. I have not found the virtual platform to be a hindrance to my clients healing, I see the same rates of progress as I did want to function in person only. For those of you that are interested, I practice a variety of techniques including EMDR, Comprehensive resource model, Internal family systems, Motivational interviewing, Guided visualization‘s, and CBT.
