Riverwoods Behavioral Health System is a leading addiction and mental health treatment center in the Atlanta area. We provide addiction and psychiatric support for patients age 10 and older, and we offer a range of inpatient and outpatient programs designed to meet the unique needs of every patient we serve. All patients receive a thorough evaluation and detailed discharge planning to best ensure that the lessons of treatment grow into a foundation for lifelong wellness. Riverwoods Behavioral Health System in Riverdale, Georgia, provides treatment for addiction, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders. We offer detox, crisis stabilization, and treatment programs for patients of all ages. Our veterans program is certified through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and we offer support for veterans for both mental health and substance use disorder treatment. We offer all levels of care for adults age 18 and older. Our inpatient treatment center includes an inpatient psychiatric program, an inpatient chemical dependency program, and a dual diagnosis inpatient program. Our outpatient treatment center provides a range of treatment options for adults. These include a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Patients in our outpatient programs have the option of the psychiatric track, chemical dependency track, or dual diagnosis track. All adults in our PHP have the option of living in Serenity Village, our dorm-style recovery residence. Our Supportive Care Unit serves senior adults age 65 and older in need of short-term crisis care stabilization. The average stay in this inpatient program is 10 days. The Supportive Care Unit is designed to meet the unique needs of geriatric patients. Our senior program offers a higher staff-to-patient ratio and addresses specific mental health challenges related to aging. Our adolescent program accepts adolescents ages 10-17. Our adolescent residential treatment center provides care for mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Adolescent treatment is highly individualized and designed to address the unique challenges adolescents will face upon discharge. We emphasize the importance of family support and education, and family therapy sessions are a central part of adolescent treatment. Treatment at Riverwoods Behavioral Health System may include individual therapy, process groups, education groups, peer pressure groups, social skills groups, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based counseling, family therapy, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), creative expression therapy, relationship development, relapse prevention, anger management, infection prevention, relaxation therapy, psychoeducational therapy, spirituality groups, music therapy, art therapy, and 12-Step participation. Patients also receive education on coping skills, chemical dependency, illness, nutrition and wellness, and medication.
