River Place Behavioral Health is a premier behavioral health treatment center located in LaPlace, Louisiana. We provide state-of-the-art psychiatric care for adult and adolescent patients. Our secluded facility is designed to help patients separate from the stressors of life and achieve lasting mental health stability in a tranquil environment. We are primarily a psychiatric care center. Patients must meet the admissions criteria of a primary diagnosis of a mental health condition. We provide treatment for a range of mental health concerns and diagnosed conditions, including bipolar disorder, major depression, generalized anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizoaffective disorder, and schizophrenia. We accept patients who have co-occurring disorders and provide detox and treatment for addictions to drugs or alcohol when a substance use disorder is a secondary diagnosis. We take a holistic approach to treatment designed to facilitate healing of the mind, body, and spirit. We combine traditional and experiential therapies to treat the whole person. Patients participate in group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, 12-Step programming, art therapy, music therapy, activities therapy, movement, and exercise. Group therapy serves as the central component of our treatment program, and patients receive support, understanding, and encouragement from peers and professionals while learning about topics like coping skills, community building, goal setting, self-esteem building, daily living skills, and life management. All patients receive unique care plans and individualized discharge planning to best support long-term well-being. We house both an adult inpatient treatment center and an adult outpatient treatment center. Our inpatient program serves adults in need of 24/7 acute psychiatric care. Our residential treatment center is designed to give adults age 18 and older the time and space to stabilize and receive the psychiatric support they need to develop a foundation for lasting mental health stability. The average stay for an adult in our inpatient program is five to 10 days. During this time, adult patients receive medical attention and medication management and participate in a variety of therapies to support long-term health. Our adolescent inpatient program is designed for adolescents ages 12-17. Young people can enter the program directly or from another level of care, and the majority of our adolescent patients transfer to our inpatient program after receiving emergency room care. The average stay length for adolescent patients is seven to 10 days. We also offer an adult intensive outpatient program (IOP) designed for patients who do not need 24/7 care. The River Place Behavioral Health IOP is the next step down for patients after receiving inpatient care, and we also directly accept patients who do not need inpatient care but could benefit from the support offered by this type of intensive care program. Our IOP services include CBT, DBT, and medication management, with an emphasis on group therapy. River Place Behavioral Health is a leading provider of psychiatric care in the New Orleans area. Our mental health treatment center combines cutting-edge technology, compassionate care, and a tranquil environment to best support our patients as they develop the skills and stability needed to maintain lasting wellness.
