ABOUT RENEE:

Throughout my 25-year career as a medical professional, there were times I traveled a parallel journey as a counseling client. Like anyone seeking a therapist, I learned first-hand how difficult it can be to find just the right combination of counseling attributes—that magical marriage of competence and concern that makes it easy to become truly vulnerable with our most personal life issues. Finding that safe place to share my most intimate concerns did not come easily. I often left my therapy session feeling even more alone and traumatized. After a long painful process, I found a therapist that I connected with and trusted. This played a huge role in my own healing. It was during this time in my life that I felt called to help others get the help they needed.

MY PASSION:

When I answered the heartfelt call to become a therapist, I was in a unique position to provide exactly the kind of counseling I had so long searched for -- counseling that provides complete acceptance and respect for the client and their journey. A non-judgmental safe place for exploration and healing. Walking with a client toward healing humbles me and gives me an energy that inspires me daily. I have a deep respect for every client that chooses me as their therapist and I never forget how difficult it is to do the hard work of self introspection. Every step my clients make toward their own goals gives me joy. Being part of this is my passion!

MY EDUCATION:

I returned to school as an adult after winning an academic scholarship from Utah State University. Graduating summa cum laude with a BS in Psychology, earning a Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling with High Honors and my extensive field experience gives me the expertise to meet a wide variety of my clients' needs. I am well versed in the latest counseling sciences, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and I am certified in Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy. I am also listed with the National Registry of Marriage Friendly Therapist and am personally committed to the institution of marriage. I help clients that are motivated to work on their relationship.
