Welcome! I am so glad you are here. Taking the first step toward seeking support is a courageous and empowering choice, and I'm honored to be a part of your journey. My goal is to provide a warm, non-judgmental, and safe space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we can work toward understanding your challenges, building on your strengths, and creating the meaningful changes you're looking for. Whether you're navigating life's uncertainties or striving for personal growth, you don't have to face it alone -- I'm here to help.

 Qualifications

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology (MACP, with distinction) from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BSc) from the University of Victoria. Throughout my education, I focused on adolescent and adult development, mental health disorders, and neuropsychology. In addition, I am trained in suicide first aid (ASIST) and bring over six years of experience supporting both youth and adults in crisis.

 My Therapeutic Approach

I take an evidence-based, integrative approach to therapy, drawing on a variety of counselling modalities to tailor my style to meet your unique needs and goals. I recognize that each person has their own perspectives on health and healing, and I take these into account when selecting the most appropriate interventions and approaches. Additionally, I view individuals through a biopsychosocial lens, allowing me to offer a holistic and well-rounded approach to counselling.

In my practice, I often incorporate techniques from client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I also integrate polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care to ensure a comprehensive and sensitive approach to healing.

Therapy with me involves exploring the intricate connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while gaining insight through the identification of patterns and themes. We will also examine how past experiences influence the present, and work together to develop skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships. I will support you in creating a new narrative, helping you let go of the limiting stories that may be holding you back. Additionally, I will guide you through times of distress and help you develop effective, healthy coping strategies.
