About Me
Hi. My name is Natalie Bondy. I am a mother of three children, age 7, 16, and 18. I also have a little dog named Chloe who is never far away, so you will likely see her if we work together. I love animals and nature. My two favorite sounds are the ocean and babies laughing.  I try hard to live in the present, find the joy in little things, and laugh every day.

My Work Philosophy
I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings for over 20 years. My personal experience has taught me the importance of getting to know each client as a whole person, rather than as a cluster of symptoms or behaviors.  I believe that taking a holistic approach is more likely to create positive and lasting change. I strive to have a thorough understanding of the daily lives, relationships, environment, and physical health of each of my clients.  Goals and interventions can be tailored to the unique individual by taking into consideration daily routines, frequency of self-care, coping skills, external supports, and stressors.

While we can't control our external environments or the behaviors of others, we can control our own interpretations and reactions. By exploring the way we perceive events, and the meanings we assign to those events, we can identify and make changes to self-defeating thoughts that influence our behavior in ways that may be keeping us stuck. We are then able to think more clearly, communicate more effectively, and begin to redirect our lives in a more meaningful and positive way.

 What To Expect
After we have communicated and made the decision to work together, I will send some forms for you to complete, as well as an invitation to my secure online portal through which our sessions will be held.
During our initial appointment, I will answer any questions you have about me, my practice, or the counseling process. I will also begin gathering detailed background information and explore your current reason for seeking counseling. This will take 1 or 2 sessions. Next, we will discuss your goals and create a treatment plan, reviewing it as needed throughout our time together.  In between sessions, I will ask you to focus on certain issues, or possibly give you a task to complete. I don't like to call this homework because, for most people, homework tends to feel like an obligation to do something that has a negative consequence if not completed. If you haven't been able to complete whatever assignment had been discussed, we will explore the barriers that prevented you from focusing on yourself, or whatever pieces of the assignment that you found difficult.

I do not take the role as expert in your care or your life. I view myself as a partner helping you navigate your current circumstances while creating a more positive future. My goal is to provide a safe place where you can feel comfortable enough to explore difficult topics without fear of being vulnerable or judged.

Sessions are typically 55-60 minutes and occur once weekly unless otherwise arranged.

My Availability
I am currently only providing video counseling. While I initially made this switch at the start of the pandemic, I have found that the personal connection needed for successful counseling is not hampered by online meetings. This also allows me more flexibility in scheduling clients, while balancing the demands of a busy family life. If you are new to counseling, or have not previously tried online counseling services, I encourage you to give it a try.

Payment
I am currently in network with Anthem, BCBS, and PHCS. Typically, if you are in network, you will pay a copay or coinsurance at the time of your appointment once any annual deductibles have been met. If I am not in network with your insurance company, I can still submit your claims if requested and will walk you through the steps necessary to understand your out of network benefits if needed. If you choose to pay out of pocket, my hourly rate is $180 for the initial meeting, and $165 for subsequent sessions.  Statements can be provided for any clients needing documentation for HSA funds.
