Good day! Thank you for your interest. I am currently accepting new clients and scheduling sessions both in-person and with zoom. Here is some information about me. My aspiration is to help individuals create a life that does not require a holiday. I offer therapy to older adolescents over the age of 16 and adults. I have an eclectic approach to therapy that ranges from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to a mindfulness based approach, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), behavioral, somatic, and creative therapies. I also offer couples therapy based on Gottman methods. I am a registered psychologist in British Columbia (#2800).

I have a special interest in working with clients who endure complex trauma (physical, sexual, and psychological), occupational stress injury, workplace stress/burnout, anxiety, depression, and addictions. I have extensive experience and training working with individuals who experienced struggles at their place of employment and in their personal life. I have a good understanding of current workplace challenges such as unhealthy work environments, as well as the struggles people have returning to work after having endured a moral and/or psychological injury. I also completed training on Gottman based methods to develop a better understanding of  interpersonal and relational issues in the context of couples therapy. Lastly, I have a special interest in completing assessments and offering therapy for individuals who endure ADHD.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honors Degree) at the University of Winnipeg and continued my education by completing a masters and doctorate degrees at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  I completed a residency at the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, Faculty of Medicine in Winnipeg, Manitoba where I had the opportunity to better understand a Community-Based Consultation Service Delivery Model in small rural communities. I attained post doctorate work experience in a federal prison named Stony Mountain Institution where I completing psychological assessments and offering treatment to federal inmates.

I am a published author in peer review journals and in the process of writing a book.  I have been fortunate to be involved in a Health Canada, Internal Research Grant examining Cocaine Use in Canada and Treatment Recommendations. I completed several presentations and chaired a number of symposia at international conferences. I spent my career working in a variety of diverse environments with veterans, correctional officers, teachers, front line workers (e.g., nurses, paramedics), and with individuals enduring addiction. I have 12 years experience working in federal corrections, in addition to having held contracts with a community-based Employee Assistance Program (EAP (e.g., Blue Cross)) and a Not for Profit organization that focused on offering community based services with a focus on trauma. Other work experiences include my working in medical rehabilitation facilities, halfway houses, and with the Department of Veteran Affairs.

I held management positions in the federal government and have supervised several Ph.D. candidates in my role of Chief of Psychology at Stony Mountain Institution, Regional Psychologist (at a national level), and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba.

I offer therapy both in person and via zoom. My rates are $220 for a 50 minute session. Initial couples therapy is $330 for a 90 minute session. I provides an invoice at the end of session that is to be submitted to an insurance provider. I will sometimes bill directly if a contract is initiated with an insurance agency. Payments include debit, credit, e-transfer, and cash that is due at the end of sessions.
