Are you feeling stuck in your life and don't know what to do about it? Do you have a life story you are in need of help making meaning of? Are you struggling in your interpersonal relationships? Are you finding yourself in a pattern of doing, thinking, and feeling you know you need to change but don't know how? Have you experienced hurt so deep that you find it wrecking all or most areas of your life?

Hello! My name is McKenzie Severe and I find it an honor to be a part of my client's healing and growth process. Everyone, at some point in their life, encounters some form of hardship. In those times, we all need the experience of feeling like someone is on our side, listened to, understood, empathized with, and even challenged toward healing and growth. One place you can find this is in the space of counseling.

I obtained my Masters of Counseling degree at Cairn University. After graduating I have gained experience with family, marriage, and individual counseling. I have worked with people from the age range of 5 years old to 65+ years old. My experience includes in-home intensive treatment for families and private practice. I have been able to work with issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, mood disorders, stress, adjustment issues, trauma, relational issues, parent-child conflict, and marital conflict. My approach with my clients is to work collaboratively with them, assess their needs and wants, and adjust my services where necessary to meet them where they are at.

In my experience as a counselor, I have had the privilege to walk with people through the hard realities of life and have seen them get to the other side. Because of this, I believe whole heartedly that healing and change can happen for anyone if they are willing to go through the process. This requires spending time dealing with your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. It requires looking at all the good and bad experiences and circumstances of the past that have impacted who you are as a person. It requires digging deep. It requires celebrating the “small” steps toward growth. Most times it is important to have someone to walk with you as you are doing the hard work. And I would love to walk with you in that process and provide you the support you need.
