Marvin Schick, MA, LMFT, EMDR Specialist

My name is Marvin Dale Schick. I am a Texas licensed Marriage and Family Therapist seeing clients at my independent practice location for Alliance Counseling Care Center--located at 1833B W. Hunt Street, McKinney, TX.. I am also the ordained Counseling Pastor at my local church in McKinney.  Before becoming a counselor/therapist I was a business manager for a large Fortune 50 consumer goods company and lead and trained people for that company for 31 years. I utilize an integration of biblical and clinical principles, along with Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method-L1 Clinical, Bowen Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and also am certified in EMDR-Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy  for helping clients achieve their counseling goals.

I also have completed post-graduate academic sex therapy work at the Institute for Sexual Wholeness for certification purposes as a Christian Sex Therapist by the American Board of Christian Sex Therapy. I am currently seeing clients presenting with counseling needs in single or adolescent sexuality, sexual addiction, compulsive pornography addiction and use, and marital sex therapy, as well as traditional marriage and relationship therapy.

I've been widowed of my wife of 42 years over a year ago...and now God has blessed me with a beautiful, Godly, wise woman who has consented to be the wife of this humble therapist and servant.  I am driven to help people find hope and healing for personal and relationship difficulties. There is great hope for us as human beings living in a very confusing and risk-laden world. I would be honored to walk with you to discover wholeness and employ state of the art clinical healing methods.
