AFTER HAVING SPENT MANY YEARS in sales and marketing, mostly in high tech, I decided to pursue an old dream and follow a path to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. Returning to grad school, I obtained a Masters degree in clinical psychology and then continued on to earn a Doctor of Education in counseling psychology.

In my private practices in Vallejo (Solano County) and San Anselmo (Marin County), I see adults, couples and children. My focus is on such issues as grief and loss, anger, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, impulsivity, parenting and sexuality. I also have a particular interest and specialty in gender identity issues. If you are confused about your gender and are looking for a therapist you won't need to educate, I have over 10 years experience working with transgender individuals, devoted to helping people recover from wounds inflicted by the ignorance of others, supporting them to discover a life that is right for them. I offer
counseling for those transitioning or not, including gender variant children, adolescents and parents.

My therapy style blends psychodynamic, relational and cognitive-behavioral approaches built on a foundation of real life experience and compassion, with a touch of humor thrown in for good measure. I'm a member of the CA Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Confidential sessions are available either in person or video
teleconferencing for CA residents.
