PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Laura Olaniyi has a Master of Social Work Degree from New Mexico Highlands University, and a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Lubbock Christian University. She has a deeply involved background working with children and families and has worked with a variety of populations who have experienced trauma and abuse. Laura utilizes Client Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.

Laura has been involved in a myriad of social work situations across the globe to help support the overall well-being of children and adolescents for the last 15 years. In addition, she has spent a vast amount of time working with family and community systems to establish effective and lasting change within the community. These experiences led to her interest in the mental health field, and in 2012 she began pursuing her advanced degree in social work.

Laura Olaniyi has a Master of Social Work Degree from New Mexico Highlands University as well as a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Lubbock Christian University.

Laura Olaniyi believes counseling involves providing individuals with a welcoming, nonjudgmental space to begin unpacking the aspects of life that guidance might be beneficial to have when approaching these hardships and facing such challenges head on. She meets every individual where they are by helping them conquer the challenges that life throws their way in a caring and authentic manner. She stimulates a sense of peace within the hearts of her clients by creating a safe, supportive environment to promote the growth and healing process both in and beyond the office. With no predetermined expectations and a reassuring yet fruitful atmosphere, Laura is prepared to evaluate and adjust her approach to therapy to what is most beneficial to the client as each person’s path to growth fluctuates over time at each stage of the healing process.
