About Larry:

I work with clients from ages 12 to 95 - one-third of my practice consists of teens of both sexes.  I encourage clients to get in touch with their real thoughts and feelings and encourage them to let go and talk about what truly upsets them to discover what is holding them back.  I work with individuals and couples, teens, and their parents.

I explain the often instinctive reasons for our behavior and how we can resolve the behaviors that upset the ones we care about.   Healing comes from understanding and discovering that you can change and that your feelings matter and must be expressed.  Improving self-awareness allows for behavior change, particularly important with couples.

I create a safe, caring, and supportive environment where it is possible to talk and learn about yourself and discover a better way to live the life you want.

I see patients using video conferencing from anywhere in the state of California.  I also work with clients in Idaho and other states where it is permitted.

My Specializations:

*  I offer Individual Counseling and Therapy for men and women and specialize in Relationship Coaching and Couples Counseling.

*  I have helped thousands of children and teens since 1997 solving school problems, depression, anxiety and the issues of ADHD.

*. I use aspects of. Acceptance Change Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Experiential Therapy with communication skills and offer easily understood insight into why we think and act the way we do so that if that's not working for you, you can change.

* When a teen (or anyone, for that matter) feels that someone is listening to them, they begin to relax and open up.  Working along with parents, most problems can be quickly resolved.  In my experience, teens are resilient, well informed and do not miss what is happening around them even if, as adults, we want to believe they are unaware of problems in the family. Including the teen in the solution, when appropriate, also teaches them that they can solve problems, an important life skill they will use throughout their lives.

My Experience:
I have worked in K-6 school programs in Northern and Southern California helping children and their families. My focus has been on identifying and working with teens who struggle in school due to behavioral, emotional, or difficult family situations (e.g., domestic violence, addictions, abuse, divorce).

Prior to becoming a licensed clinical Marriage Family Therapist, I enjoyed a career in high-tech companies, aerospace,  manufacturing, banking, and financial services.  I retired early and earned a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology to help people live better and more satisfying lives. I was licensed in 2001in California.
