ABOUT
At times in our lives we experience challenges that feel overwhelming. No matter what is tried, nothing changes and sometimes things seem to get more cloudy, confusing and distressing. My hope is that through learning to approach challenges in a new way, and make sense of where you find yourself you will find new ways of coping and growing!

With a focus on integrative therapy engaging both the brain and the relationships we experience in our lives I employ a compassionate approach seeking new ways of thinking, feeling, and being.

APPROACH
I named my practice Approach Psychological because of the way I practice therapy. Approach Psychological is all about finding helpful ways of moving towards the distress in our lives. Often we experience set backs in our own attempts towards change which leaves us feeling frustrated, confused, and unmotivated. At Approach, we want to work together to help you find effective ways of continuing to grow that will last. This doesn't mean eliminating the problems we are experiencing but instead finding new perspectives, ways of coping, behaviour, and understanding so that our problems and distress no longer is experienced in the same way.

At Approach, the work likely isn't going to be easy. Surprisingly though, it can be fun. Humour is a big part of who I am and can be used effectively to bring insight into our experience. I'm also not about digging up the past, rather I like to say that we are shining a light on things, gaining new perspectives and meaning in life events.

MEET LANDON
I received a MA in Counselling Psychology from Providence Theological Seminary and am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologist. I am also a member of the Psychological Association of Alberta and served in the past as chair of the Social Justice Committee. Previous to working in private practice I was the Director of Housing and Clinic Operations with The Mustard Seed supervising counselling psychology interns and working to bring effective integrated mental and physical health solutions to those experiencing poverty and homelessness in Alberta.

In my spare time, I like to go outdoors as much as possible. You will find me running, hiking, backpacking in the backcountry with my family, and when it snows I like to strap on some skis or crampons to hit the trails or the mountains. Some of my favourite locations are Glacier National Park in BC, Canmore, Jasper, and Elk Island for those quick getaways out of Edmonton.

INSURANCE AND FEE
I use a negotiated rate as it is important to me that the cost of services does not stand as a barrier to receiving support. I am very open to lowering costs so as to not make finances stand in the way of your health.

Most providers will cover psychological services from a registered psychologist in Alberta. Several companies will offer direct billing as well. Please check with your insurance provider regarding coverage before your appointment.
