A strong therapeutic relationship can help enhance quality of life, transform your relationships and boost your resilience. We are a caring team with diverse backgrounds in education, training and lived experience.

In your sessions, you can expect to feel comfortable openly talking about your intimate concerns without judgement. We do not believe in a one-size-fits all approach, and therefore as we get to know you and your concerns, we will collaboratively discuss what treatments may be most effective and best tailored to your individual needs, personality, and comfort (for example, EMDR, CBT, couple therapy, sex therapy, communication training, mindfulness techniques, referral to other specialists), and learn about resources that can further support your needs.

Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way to help people reduce, manage and cope with emotional and psychological disturbances that impact their well-being. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process that requires both the patient and therapist to be actively involved in the treatment. Together, a therapist and client explore the client's thinking, relationships and life circumstances in order to better understand how the client may bring about positive changes that will enhance their quality of life. Registered psychotherapists and Registered Social Workers are accountable to the College or Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), respectively, for the quality of care they provide and for their professional conduct. Individuals who are registered with CRPO and OCSWSSW are able to use the title “Psychotherapist” and "Social Worker", thus, when you seek the services of a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker, you can expect to receive high quality care.

Couple therapy is psychotherapy focused on helping romantic partners work through issues in their relationship. Relationships require maintenance just like anything else, and professional help can provide you with the right tools for the job. Often couples spend many unhappy years together before deciding to pursue couple therapy. While a couples at any stage in their relationship can benefit from therapy, either to improve their relationship or to decide whether ending the relationship is best, it is recommended to address relationship problems as early as possible. This will help to facilitate repair in the relationship and prevent further rupture.

Sex therapy is psychotherapy, or talk therapy, focused on helping an individual or a couple address their sexual concerns. Sex therapy is often most effective when combined with couple therapy, as sexual concerns are often relational in nature. However, individual sex therapy can still be highly effective for many sexual concerns. Sometimes, sexual concerns may be all that you are looking to address during your time in treatment, but oftentimes, it is only one aspect of why you are seeking help. Psychotherapists and social workers must first obtain a master's degree where they learn to treat a broad range of general issues, such as depression, anxiety and trauma, before they go on to develop specialized knowledge in treating sexual and relational issues and our therapists do this through continuing education and clinical supervision.

We use several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing, Gestalt, Narrative, Solution-Focused & Emotion-Focused Therapy & Gottman Method, among others.

Together, we will explore your concerns, discuss your goals, explore how you can influence change and supply you with the tools and resources to do so. We will collaboratively develop a treatment plan that suits your needs and preferences. We offer sessions in-person, by video or telephone.
