Life can have many challenges. Sometimes you can navigate through these difficult times on your own while some issues are not so easily resolved. If you’re having a rough time and unsure how to manage, counselling can help! Counselling with me is a chance to feel seen and heard and we become a team of sorts. We collaborate to determine a deeper understanding of your situation, develop greater self-awareness, create helpful solutions and facilitate soulful healing.
I am most passionate about working with those who are dealing with anxiety/depression, insomnia, relationship issues, parenting struggles, trauma and self-regulation. I genuinely want to help you cope better and feel happier. I assist in this process by drawing on a number of theoretical frameworks to support you in this work but you, of course, know yourself and what works best for you.
If you're considering counselling, you likely want to work with an experienced therapist. I have been a therapist for over 30 years and, although acknowledging this makes me sound older than I feel, I have learned a lot from those that I have worked with in the past. I’m happy to share all I’ve learned along the way with those I get to work with now. In terms of formal education, I have a Masters in Counselling Psychology, I have done significant professional development over the years, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#1781) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
