Jamesconsiders it a privilege to walk alongside people facing internal and
interpersonal adversity. Life can throw people
into confusion which brings us to a place of seeking clarity through curiosity
and compassion. James never takes for
granted the challenge change presents for clients and therefore brings warmth
and wonder in sessions with clients. James believes that collaboratively the client
and counselor can create a real connection for healing, hope, and wholeness
with an integrated approach to healing which includes other therapies addressing
the whole person. A client’s healing
journey may start with physical pain or through relational suffering or inside your
own emotional difficulty. However, movement
from desolation to consolation mostly happens from one person to another by
working creatively through an experience of acceptance embarking on a new future.
James has
over 30 years of care giving experience from poverty to prosperity. Out of trauma he’s witnessed hope. From suffering he’s observed joy. At times we need an experience of presence
that gives rise to power for a promising future. He lives in Squamish, British Columbia that prides itself as “Hardwired
for Adventure” and a destination for the outdoors. James has taken the outward adventure whether
on the trails in his home town or cross culture travel in Malawi.
He has also taken the inward travel of interpersonal change walking with
his own angst or that of family and friends.
He’s coached on the athletic field as well as the counseling room and
while life includes competition it’s better lived collaboratively. His favorite t-shirt says, “You can talk to
be about mental health and dogs too …” Focus:
