I have over 35+ years experience working as a mental health care provider. I have a passion for working with anxiety, depression, military veterans, panic attacks, agoraphobia, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. However, I treat most psychological conditions. I work with individuals, couples, and families. My treatment approaches draw from a variety of interventions including: Behavioral Approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EFT, EMDR, Energy Psychology, Family Systems, Biofeedback Training, Couples and Families Communication and Conflict Resolution Training, Mindfulness, Guided Imagery, and Psychodynamic Approaches.

I emphasize an integrative/holistic approach addressing behavioral issues and habits that influence your health within each sphere of your life. I address individual and relational patterns that effect the health of body, mind, soul, and spirit. I recognize how you interact and communicate with others; how you prioritize what is important in your life; how you manage time and tasks; the amount of rest/sleep you get; and the underlying thoughts you generally think throughout the day (whether positive or negative); and the amount of exercise you get or not get influence your mental and relational health. I recognize the connection between your overall energy level and the correlation with your personal behavioral patterns; such as a pattern of eating healthy or unhealthy, the amount of caffeine intake, excessive use of sugary food, use of legal/illegal drugs, side effects of prescription medications, and any supplements that you might or might not use. I am not a dietitian; however, I can share resources that discuss the relationship between what we eat and drink and how it influences our physical and mental being and respect your own decision regarding these personal choices in your life. In addition, a Registered Nurse with a holistic practice and a Licensed Acupuncturist practice independently within my office suite and as appropriate I can refer you to them to assist you in your overall healing process if you so desire. I recognize the value of pharmaceuticals but I believe too many times we overuse pharmaceuticals (in my own life I have eliminated all of them). I believe too many times we overuse pharmaceuticals to treat mental conditions when other approaches can be used without dangerous side effects.

My own life perspective is faith based. I am a Christian. However, I will respect whatever your spiritual beliefs or lack of spiritual beliefs and will never impose. I have a faith perspective that is inclusive toward all rather than exclusive of any ... a faith perspective based on grace, forgiveness, and a loving creator, instead of fear, judgment, or condemnation. I believe that prayer (others may use the term "sending out a positive intent") is beneficial. I also believe our relationship with God is between us and God rather than any particular church. As appropriate I will incorporate your own spiritual beliefs in working with you.

I try to make the costs of sessions affordable for people who have health insurance and those who don't. Cost for services range between $35 - $90. My standard charge for a 15 minute phone or online appointment is $35. My standard charge for a 30 minute in office or online video appointment is $45 and $90 for a 60 minute in office or online video appointment. I don't discount the cost of sessions, but in some cases, for 60 minute sessions will extend out payment for sessions if you are unable to afford the full cost each session. If you choose to use insurance, after your first session, I will contact your insurance on your behalf to verify eligibility and reimbursement rates and I will submit monthly insurance claims on your behalf. Generally, online or counseling over the phone are not reimbursed by insurance companies.
