Are you longing to be seen, heard, and understood? I am here to support you, assist you in untangling unhelpful belief systems, and behaviors. When these belief systems are dismantled, you can start to see more of your strengths and begin to connects with your True/Devine self.

Experience:I have been working in this field as a psychologist for over 30 years. I completed my masters and PhD in counselling psychology at the University of Alberta in 1992 and 1998 respectively. Since this time I have completed multiple training in several types of therapies including psychodynamic, CBT, ACT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and Hakomi. Based on your presenting concerns and your preferences I weave together an approach that is aimed at assisting, supporting, understanding and change. When we lean on Faith and Devine truth transformative change can occur.

Personal Approach:

I aim to create an environment where you feel valued, cared for, comfortable, safe and can explore what is currently blocking you from living the life you want.

My clients feel accepted and understood and this validates their felt experience, and helps them feel “less bad”, which enables them to feel more comfortable about expressing very personal and painful experiences. This often opens up a new way of seeing things that is life affirming and offers more positive choices. It may involve recognizing that they are not responsible for events that were actually out of their control, or that they were not inherently flawed, but had a parent/teacher/flawed human who was very angry/disturbed.

I encourage people to trust themselves, to make decisions and empower them to be their authentic self. This enables them to take risks and change behaviors that have been causing them anxiety and continue their negative self perceptions; Behaviour change builds confidence. As a result my clients learn to tap into to their instincts and to see how negative thoughts can lead them astray with old patterns of thought. I encourage people to express themselves in an open and honest way which helps them feel better about themselves; They are saying “my thoughts and feelings are important”, and I will be there cheering clients on. I am gentle when I need to be and direct at other times.

I work with adults who want to:
* feel better.
*.have more confidence.
* feel calmer.
* have better communication.
* develop great relationships.
* shift fear to hope.
* enjoy life.
* have meaningful work.
* grow and learn.

In the comfort of a private office with a person who you feel accepted and valued by, gentle probing enables you to explore deeper emotions and experiences that you may have not previously been aware we're sabotaging you, come to light.
Once patterns are uncovered and deconstructed new healthier belief systems can become stronger and you start to notice that your are feeling better and making positive changes in your life.
