Edith is eager to meet with couples wanting to have healthy core qualities in their marriage. She uses Prepare/Enrich assessment results to help dating, engaged and married couples discover strengths and weaknesses (growth areas) in their relationships. Edith guides couples in enriching their relationships through assertive communication, conflict resolution, intimacy, service, trust, healthy expectations, defining of roles, etc. Couples who complete the Prepare/Enrich program will receive a completion certificate that can be presented to a Texas county clerk for up to $60 off their marriage license fee and waiving of the 72-hour waiting period for marriage.
As a certified anger management specialist, Edith counsels and trains self-initiated and court-ordered clients alike in developing healthy anger management skills. Upon the successful conclusion of counseling/training, participants will receive a certification of completion, from Anger Is OK (http://angerisok.com/), to present to the court.
Edith welcomes the opportunity to help those dealing with body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), such as trichotillomania or skin-picking. Edith is trained in the Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB) Model, which incorporates Habit Reversal Training (HRT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) techniques. A biblical approach to treatment of BFRBs is also available.
With care, compassion, and confidentiality, Edith helps clients work through a myriad of life issues, including anger, anxiety (including panic attacks), body-focused repetitive behaviors (trichotillomania, skin-picking), depression, grief, boundaries, dependence, emotional intelligence, empathy, marital discord (including infidelity), self-esteem, social anxiety, trauma, stress, vocational issues, etc. Individual and couples counseling sessions are available.
