My BA is in psychology (U. of Chicago). My MA is in child development and family relationships (Cornell). For more than forty years I have specialized in working with all kinds of children and adolescents, including children with medical conditions such as birth defects, genetic problems, and facial abnormalities. I had multi-year training in group therapy, marriage and family therapy, and clinical hypnosis.
I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 1990 and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) since 1992. I am also a Licensed Psychological Associate with Independent Practice (LPA). I have worked with Headstart, schools, other educational and mental health agencies, non-profit organizations, and private businesses including the Child Study Center and Fort Worth Psychological Center. I have been in private practice for 22 years.
As a counselor, I help people deal with stresses of all kinds. I have led anger management classes, worked with people who had chronic physical pain, and have helped people change or stop unwanted habits. I'm easygoing, upbeat, and plain-speaking. I'll do my best to join you where you are, while encouraging you to see, hear, feel and believe in new ways of thinking and acting.
