Working in forensic psychology for many years with unmotivated, often mandated clients, I have expertise in behavioural analysis and risk assessments and used Motivational Interviewing techniques on a daily basis with treatment-resistant, pre-contemplative clients to help them break down the barriers preventing them from engaging in therapy and making meaningful life changes. Witnessing the phenomenal change people are capable of consolidated my belief that no matter how fraught with difficulties an individual’s situation may be they can work through it all with the right support and I offer family sessions to help prepare individuals for the changes ahead. Alongside Individual Therapy I also provide Couples and Family Counselling using Emotionally Focussed Therapy techniques to build stronger connections and increase effective communication and understanding in intimate relationships. This structured approach to therapy creates lasting change in a relatively short timeframe, easing conflict and offering tangible results from the initial session. I am honored when a client allows me into their world to help them navigate a path through their troubles and consider it a duty of care to ensure that I am fully conversant in both tried and tested therapeutic approaches and newer research theories. I am registered with several overseeing bodies, offering you confidence that you are receiving support from a psychotherapist with the necessary balance of qualifications, experience and accountability to provide professional and effective counselling
services.
