I am a licensed psychologist who has been working in the mental health field since 1979. I graduated from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1990 and has been licensed to practice clinical psychology since 1991. I have been in private practice since 1992.
I have worked intensively in various settings with substance abusers, military veterans with posttraumatic stress, and inmates. I have many years of performing forensic psychological evaluations, such as disabilty evaluations, personal injury evaluations, immigration waiver evaluations and criminal responsibility evaluations. Through my private practice of 20 years, I have learned to perform therapy with people who have various anxiety disorders, depression, addictions and marital problems. I work with the elderly, adults of all ages and teenagers.
My therapeutic approach focuses upon reflective listening and practical cognitive behavioral techniques to help people cope with real life problems. In other words, I try to listen carefully to the underlying emotional needs of my patients and focus upon practical day to day coping skills. At present, I work evening and weekend hours. I work hard to serve patients in need and try to be personable and friendly.
