David Lieberman, MFT-C
Marriage and Family Therapist | Compassionate, Experienced, & Collaborative
Are you tired of quick fixes just feeling ‘better’ for a bit, but not resulting in lasting, transformational change? Are you ready to invest in yourself and your relationship(s) in a new way, with an open-mindedness that might lead to discovering parts of yourself that you thought had been lost forever?
As a compassionate and experienced therapist, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals and couples seeking clarity, connection, and lasting change. My practice is rooted in the belief that every person has a unique story, and together we can co-explore and re-author your narrative to bring greater compassion to yourself and each other; plus fulfillment to your life. My approach to therapy is collaborative, respectful, and deeply human, with a focus on fostering trust and growth.
Areas of Focus
I specialize in helping clients navigate:
Relationship challenges
Family dynamics
Personal struggles
Life transitions
Non-monogamy and polyamory
LGBTQIA+ related concerns
Men’s ‘issues’
Humans grappling with suicidality including specialized training in the CAMS framework
Working closely with each client, I aim to facilitate a new connection with yourself and others, using them to tackle current obstacles. Whether you are looking to improve your relationship, address personal anxieties, or find a path through trauma, I tailor our work to meet your unique needs and goals.
My Approach
I draw from a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Satir Family Therapy all of which support meaningful, transformative change. For couples, I integrate attachment and creative somatic experiences that encourage open, vulnerable communication, helping partners build trust and deepen intimacy. Together, we address not only immediate challenges but also the underlying patterns and beliefs that shape your relationships and self-perception.
In our sessions, you can expect a balance of talk and experiential work where we use language, visualization, and sometimes creative exercises to connect with your experiences on a deeper level. Therapy with me is not about quick fixes but rather about achieving lasting, durable, growth and empowerment. I see myself as your facilitator of this journey, providing guidance, insight, and support as we work through your challenges.
My Qualifications
I hold a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and CAMS for suicidality, and bring years of experience working with diverse clients, including couples, families, and individuals facing complex life issues. My background also includes a previous career in business, which helps me understand and relate to high-stakes challenges, particularly for professionals and entrepreneurs.
I welcome you to reach out, whether you’re facing relationship difficulties, personal growth hurdles, or are simply ready to take the first step toward a better life. Together, we’ll create a roadmap toward a life filled with purpose, resilience, and fulfilling relationships.
