Introduction
Clayton is a Canadian Certified
Counsellor (CCC) with Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. He is
also a Registered Psychologist (R.Psych) with the Alberta College of
Psychologists. Clayton holds a Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology and Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Clayton brings with him a variety of work and life experience due to his work and education outside of the mental health field. He currently owns and operates a
private practice, Effective Solutions Counselling & Consulting Inc. working
along side other mental health practitioners in the Airdrie Counselling Centre.
Clayton specializes in individual, couples and family counselling.
Summary
of Therapy Approach
Clayton will work with you as your therapist to help you best assess
your therapy needs. Once your needs have been identified, he will then work collaboratively
with you to best meet those needs. He finds that people have their own inner
strength to work through their problems and find needed solutions to issues
they are facing in their lives. He will work with you to help uncover those
strengths and add the needed resources to your current strengths, that will
allow you to move forward positively in your life.
Couples/Marriage
Counselling Statement:
Many
people take care of things such as their car, house and physical health on a
regular basis. However neglect such important aspects of their live like their
couple relationship and mental health. In particular as life gets busy the
couple relationship takes a back seat to other concerns in their live. However
research has found that if individuals are struggling in their intimate
relationship then many aspects of their life can suffer including health. When
was the last time you had a couple’s relationship check-up. If your relationship
is struggling then couples counselling can help! Clayton helps couples work on
rebuilding and strengthening their relationship using a variety of proven
approaches including, but not limited to Gottman model, solution focused
approach, cognitive behavioural techniques.
Clayton has been happily married for over 19 years and has four children. He currently provides counselling and consulting services
to Airdrie and area, including but not limited to Crossfield, Irricana, Beiseker,
and North Calgary. For clients elsewhere, Clayton is also provides phone
counselling and e-counselling counselling.
