I came to psychotherapy out of a passion for spiritual practice and meditation but recognizing that the wounds of relationship are often left untouched through solitary effort alone; these wounds must be healed through a transformative relationship based on safety and trust, an experience of being met emotionally where we have not been met before. I endeavor to join my clients in their places of shame, confusion, and unhelpful aloneness, warming these places with empathy, lighting the embers for self-compassion, opening the way for greater awareness and choice. I work with adults and teens struggling with relationships, life transitions, creative blocks, identity, sexuality, body image, grief/loss, shame, anxiety, and depression, and those on a path of personal growth and empowerment.

The therapy process can be tough but can also be playful, energizing, and joyful. My working style balances both addressing what is troubling you and reflecting back your strengths, as I find this essential for creating positive change and integrating new ways of being.

My training is based in Gestalt/Humanistic and psychodynamic orientations, influenced by Hakomi and Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and my B.A. in Visual Art from Brown University. My background in art and passion for free form dance inform my work with a reverence for creative process and trust in its healing power. I bring years of meditation practice to provide a ground of awareness and to facilitate a deeper inhabiting of the body, both of which are important in therapy.
