Through various modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, strength-based therapy, and mindfulness practices, I walk alongside clients to help them towards a path to wellness, healing, and wholistic transformation. We will work together to understand the experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that bring you to therapy. They are not “wrong” or “irrational,” but part of what makes us human. It can be rooted in old and deep traumas, internal conflicts, overwhelming losses, or unbearable wishes.
My expertise includes working with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, or having a hard time handling pressures from school, work, and relationships. I help people understand the impact of adverse childhood experiences, such as abuse, neglect, or instability, on their life and their relationships. I help individuals and couples of all ages navigate cultural adjustment, interpersonal conflict, separation, loss, grief, perinatal and postnatal transitions, and parenting challenges. In addition, I work with couples preparing for marriage through premarital counselling. As an ordained Christian minister, I also offer faith-integrated counselling from a Christian perspective. For those who have faith, clinical research studies show that when faith, prayer, and the wisdom of the Bible, the rates of healing and restoration are often more encouraging. Scripture acts as a compass to point us in the right direction.
I recognize that each person is unique and see the importance of loving and having compassion for others, regardless of their past, background, ethnicity, values, and beliefs. I believe that we all deserve to be at our best—and sometimes that means walking with people who can help get us there or acquiring tools that we don’t currently have.
