HOW I CAN HELP
I specialize in supporting individuals and their families, in healing and creating meaningful change in their lives. I utilize evidenced based approaches that include working with the nervous system and supporting the brain in creating new neuropathways, so you can feel and act differently. Our work together can lead to new meaning, changing your relationship to the problem, increased self-compassion and worth, improved relationships, and moving forward with a sense of purpose. Other benefits include new insights, increased self-awareness, and more flexibility in your thinking and responses.
I am passionate about holding space and connecting with people in a genuine and kind way. Helping people see their worth and move forward with a sense of hope and new understanding is deeply meaningful to me.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
I have a deep admiration for people and their resiliency and am honoured to help un-suffer the suffering of people. The stories we tell ourselves and how we make sense of our experience matters. I see counselling as an opportunity for meaning making and our preferred ways of being to become possible.
I understand many unhelpful patterns or responses are learned adaptive responses from the past that are no longer helpful in our current situation. Thus, what once helped keep you safe and functioning could now be getting in your way. Through clarifying what is important to you and what you want, I can support you to respond more flexibility and get unstuck.
Problems work well when people are isolated, and think they are bad, broken, or worthless. Through changing your relationship to the problem, yourself, and with others, we can change the context in which the problem is currently operating in. It is through relating to oneself and the problem differently that makes change feel possible. In addition, self-kindness and understanding rather than beating yourself up provides the motivation to take action towards your preferred future.
Some specific therapeutic modalities I utilize are EMDR, narrative therapy, systemic family therapy, mindfulness, internal family systems (IFS), and response-based practice.
