I love working with Individuals, Couples, and Families.
I graduated from JFK University with a M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Holistic Studies. As a holistic therapist I believe that our body, mind and soul are connected and that we all have the innate ability to change so that we can lead happy and fulfilled lives.
I utilize EMDR, IFS as well as Mindfulness and Somatice Practices to heal from early and recent trauma.
IFS or Internal Family Systems was developed by Richard Schwartz, Ph, a family therapist and is a mindfulness-based approach which uses a collaborative partnership to facilitate healing and self-growth to look at and getting to know the different parts that sometimes lead our lives. By getting to know these parts we can gain more compassion with ourselves and can lead a live from Self, which is our Essence of True Self.
As a student of Yoga and a meditation practitioner for more than 30 years I incorporate my spiritual practice as a means to look within through self-awareness and somatic experiencing with the higher aim of attaining peace of mind and a fulfilled life.
As an adoptive parent, I bring first hand experience and specialized training to the issues of adoption, especially interracial adoption. Before becoming a therapist I was a early childhood educator, trained in Germany in both Waldorf and Montessori teaching.
