 Neurodivergence
As a neurodivergent affirming therapist, I recognize that you are the expert in your own experience. ADHD can present a diverse range of gifts and struggles that make it challenging to cope in a neurotypical world. Psychotherapy can be a valuable step in helping you to manage your symptoms or develop coping strategies.

How Therapy Can Help Someone with ADHD
Medication is the first line of treatment for ADHD and it’s proven to give people with ADHD so much more to work with in terms of mental resources. So where does therapy come in? Therapy is useful for helping people with ADHD develop key life skills and healthy coping strategies. Many individuals with ADHD use therapy as a supportive space to strengthen their relationships, explore their identity, or manage co-occurring anxiety or depression.

Imagine struggling for years with an invisible neurological difference. Living with untreated and/or late diagnosed ADHD can greatly impact a person’s sense of self worth and make it harder for them to live the kind of life they want to lead. Therapy can help rebuild unhealthy coping skills like perfectionism, people pleasing, and self criticism and help clients live a more fulfilling life.
