As a psychotherapist I am dedicated to improving the health and well being of my clients and it is my goal to make the therapeutic process as comfortable as possible. I work from a positive psychology perspective geared towards increasing confidence, self-esteem and helping you recognize your own individual strengths. Often times when a person experiences a traumatic or stressful event they report feeling as if their life or 'being' is unbalanced. You may feel shaken by the incident and have difficulty coping with day to day tasks experiencing bouts of depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, hypervigilence, chronic pain, social isolation, addictions, etc. The stressful event can also effect loved ones and the people around you. By increasing your self awareness we can address the way you view your self and the experiences around you. Everybody has a story and sometimes we need a little help to get over the hurdles in life from time to time.
My work history entails 15 + years experience within the mental health field stemming from Crisis Worker in the emergency dept. at Southlake Regional Health Centre, On scene response with victim services york region and lastly extensive counselling/case management experience with Dual diagnosis clients, Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury clients & At Risk Youth.
