Do you ever feel like you are fighting against your own thoughts?
Do you feel lost in life and pressured to meet others' expectations?

Well, you are not alone and I would like to help you on your journey to a better relationship with yourself.

Therapy is a safe space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and how your past has influenced your present behaviours. I specialize in anxiety, body image, and disordered eating for all genders and non-binary people who feel pressured to conform to societal expectations. I want to help you achieve your personal goals and values so you may lead your life with more confidence in yourself.

Do you want to get to know yourself better and improve your relationships? Therapy can provide you with the tools to manage stress and still succeed in your goals. From personal and professional experience, I can help guide you through high performance pressures. Whether that be in sports, arts, academics, or careers, I understand how we can feel inadequate comparing ourselves to others’ successes. This mindset can have large impact on our self-esteem and sometimes even hold us back from our own happiness.

Anxiety about the body and feeling pressure to change how we look is very common with the summer months. While the warm weather means less winter blues, it can also bring on some expectations to fit a certain body type and follow restrictive diets. Unfortunately, this strained relationship with food and our bodies can have a severe impact on our mood and overall wellbeing. Using science and psychology we can better understand why diet culture causes more shame than weight loss. It is important to educate ourselves on the misinformation in the media and learn more self-compassionate ways of making decisions for ourselves. By openly and safely talking about body and eating, we'll minimize the shame and maximize confidence. In therapy, we will discuss how you can have a healthier life balance that allows for self-trust and enjoyment of food and experiences while maintaining nutritional choices and confidence in your body.

Therapy looks different for everyone, but it is always a safe and non-judgemental place for you to feel validated. It also offers you a space to hear an unbiased perspective without feeling like a burden to your personal relationships. My goal is to continue to offer a culturally sensitive space for you to reflect and grow. Overcoming the stigma and barriers to mental health support can be difficult, but therapy can be a unique and collaborative experience towards feeling lighter. Everyone can benefit from a safe and culturally sensitive space to reflect and grow, away from bias and judgement.
