If you are feeling lost or stuck in your relationship, I can help you reconnect with your partner and feel more secure as a couple.
I help couples that are dealing with:
- infidelity
- affairs
- constant fighting
- lack of emotional connection
- lack of sexual connection
- life transitions
We all need to feel safe in our relationships, to feel like we are in a partnership that allows us to communicate our needs and be heard. Studies have shown that we even live longer when we have a secure marriage or intimate relationship. But it isn’t always easy to communicate our needs to our partners or to believe that they are accessible to us. It can also be far too easy to get suck in old patterns and ways of doing things that no longer work
That’s where couples counseling comes in. With the help of a trained therapist who can provide tools for reconnecting through emotions, brain, and body, you can recapture the vibrancy of your relationship when it was new and build it into a bond that’s even stronger than before.
I specialize in treating couples. Through years of experience, I know that no problem is too great to overcome. In couples counseling, you will be able to forge a new connection, address the issues you face, and learn strategies to help you both right now and in the future. As your therapist, I will be there with you every step of the way.
Now, a little about me. My name is Dr. Akeisha Rivera, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the founder of Creating Stronger Bonds Psychology PLLC. I work primarily with couples, and I use the Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) approach to relationship counseling. This work is a lifelong passion for me. Growing up, I was always told that I was a good listener and became a confidante to many friends and family members. I also have a deep personal commitment to creating a thriving partnership. I am married myself, and my husband and I are the proud parents of a toddler.
I have both a personal and professional understanding of the hard work, patience, and empathy required to maintain closeness and recreate a sense of safety in a relationship. When you are ready to move past the recurring challenges of your relationship or marriage in a safe, judgement-free space, let's talk.
