My Approach:

The work of healing and liberation is dynamic and deeply personal. The emphasis of therapy will shift based on your unique needs, desires, and life circumstances. For some, therapy might center around addressing the physical and emotional impacts of trauma, such as chronic pain, hypervigilance, insomnia, or emotional numbness. For others, it may be about expanding the capacity to experience and be present with a broader range of emotions—whether joy, sadness, anger, or fear. Some clients are seeking refuge and peace in the midst of grief, loss, or illness, while others may be exploring gender identity or learning to express themselves authentically. Many seek to improve communication in relationships, break free from unhelpful patterns, or restructure their lives to align more fully with their values and needs. Whatever your goals or concerns, I approach therapy as a deeply collaborative process that honours both the sources of your pain and the wellsprings of joy and transformation in your life.

I work from a perspective that acknowledges the complex root systems of both suffering and resilience. Together, we can explore the strategies you've developed to cope with challenges, while also discovering new ways to support your healing and growth. I am committed to creating a therapeutic space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered to make lasting changes.

I draw from a variety of perspectives and therapeutic modalities including:
  • Queer, feminist, and disability theories that center social justice and deconstruct oppressive norms and biases
  • Somatic and neurobiological understandings of emotional and mental health, which emphasize the interconnectedness of the mind and body
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help heal trauma and deeply embedded emotional wounds
  • Somatic Experiencing (SE) which helps regulate the nervous system and process trauma stored in the body
  • Internal Family Systems and Parts Work to help integrate and harmonize conflicting aspects of the self
  • Intuitive Eating to foster a healthier, more compassionate relationship with food and body image
I honour and celebrate the diverse experiences people have of gender and sexuality, as well as the many ways people have of thinking, communicating, and finding kinship.
