Education
Rick earned his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology from Stetson University, Deland, Florida in 1975. He received his Master of Science (MS) in Community/Clinical Psychology at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida in 1977 and completed an internship at the Center for Drug Free Living, Orlando, Florida in 1977.

License
Rick is a Mental Health Counselor licensed in the State of Florida since 1982. He is also a “Qualified Mental Health Supervisor.”

Professional Experience
Rick’s professional background began in 1977 as a counselor for Orange County Community Corrections where he eventually became the Department Manager. Rick held professional/managerial positions in Social Services, Youth & Family Services and HIV/AIDS services and the Orange County Medical Clinic. While serving as the Health & Family Services Administrator at the Orange County Medical Clinic, he headed up eligibility and case management services from 2003-2014. Orange County Medical Clinic is a member of the award winning Primary Care Access Network (PCAN), a unique association of healthcare agencies serving the uninsured in Orange County Florida. Rick’s professional experience spans over 40 years.

Professional Practice
Rick’s sees individuals or couples in his adult and older adult practice. His counseling approaches are humanistic and cognitive- behavioral but all counseling is designed to meet individualized or a couple’s needs. Rick served as an instructor for the University of Phoenix- Psychology and Human Services programs. He is a member of the American Counseling Association, a member of American Mental Health Counselors Association, a member of the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors.Association.

Personal
Rick was born and raised in Massachusetts and attended Wilbraham and Monson Academy for high school. He moved to Florida to attend college, graduate school and establish his Florida roots. He has been married for 33 years to a former elementary school educator and administrator. He has two dogs to chase around enjoys traveling and his interests also include golf, piano and following the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey club. Go Bolts!
