Feeling upset, confused and overwhelmed happens to all of us. Life can be brutal sometimes. We all make mistakes. If you're looking for support, I will do my best to help you. With over 30 years as a helping professional, I have gained valuable experience in dealing with many difficult types of personal, professional and relationship issues.

I graduated with my bachelors degree in Clinical Criminology from the University of Montreal in 1993. As a young father working full-time, I subsequently went on to obtain both my bachelor's degree (2003) and my master's degree (2005) in Social Work from McGill University.

Over the years, I have worked in a wide variety of settings including adult corrections, adult and children's mental health, child protection, employee assistance programs, addictions and as a therapist with the canadian military. These experiences have allowed me to obtain specialized training in working with these different populations. My approach combines a variety of therapeutic modalities with a particular focus on being client centered, strength based and empathic. Additionally, as a regulated mental health professional, my approach is to use evidence based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, along with emotion and solution focused therapy skills.

My professional affiliations include: 1- Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers since 2003, 2- Certified with the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation where I hold designation as an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counsellor since 2010, 3- Certified Sex Addiction Therapist with the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals since 2013 and 4-Member of the Ordre Professionel des Criminologues du Québec.

I have come to learn that it is a privilege to work as a therapist. I endeavor to take my role seriously and to help clients. In so doing, I am particularly committed to offering the best client service I can to clients. I aim for clients to feel better when they leave my office. This is accomplished by offering a consistent warm welcome, safe comfortable space, along with both caring and honest conversations that will encourage the people I work with to develop an ability to feel their feelings, confront their inner critic and face their fears. This often leads to clients taking the hard steps needed to improve their lives. We all have to do it sometime in order to grow.
