I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and also a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)  with the State of Montana, specializing in Chemical Dependency Evaluations, Gambling Evaluations,  Court-ordered treatment, Intensive Outpatient treatment,  Level 1 treatment, Early Education/Prevention, and Chronic Relapse Prevention. I can also assist you in addressing some of life's challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and grief issues. I maintain a private practice in Billings, MT.  I am a member of the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). I have been counseling individuals for over 30 years in various capacities, from leading bereavement groups, aiding those in the correctional system, to facilitating Domestic Assault groups.  My career has granted me the opportunity to work with diverse groups.  I take a person-centered approach, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify a client's goals, moving towards positive solutions.
 While we cannot change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.  By applying complimentary counseling approaches and techniques, we will identify long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.  Recovery is a process and learning to use your new skills takes time and effort.
 
Alcohol/Drug addiction, anxiety and depression can affect all walks of life and at any age.  You can take back control of your life!   My goal is to assist you in realizing that addiction is a treatable disease and can be managed successfully. Sometimes when life gives us challenges, an individual may experience depression or anxiety.  I believe in a holistic style, working alongside you and I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each individual. Any addiction can create added stress to a relationship during this time so having your spouse/partner accompany you sometimes may be beneficial. I believe we all have the ability to make positive changes, provided we are given the skills and tools to empower us.
 
I work with individuals age 16+ and couples.  Group for clients needing to obtain Early Education/Prevention (Level .05) is also offered.  Please call for dates and times for this group.  I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment in an office conveniently located on the west end of Billings, MT.  I am a preferred provider with most insurance companies and accept most all insurances.
