About Me
A
warm and heartfelt welcome! If you are reading my profile, you are likely
curious about how I can best support you on your journey, and it is an honour
to be part of that process. Our lives can become riddled with obstacles,
leaving us feeling lost, out of control or even in chaos. In our sessions
together, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space that fosters hope, a
sense of meaning, inner healing and empowerment as we navigate stressful and
painful experiences, rooted in your past, present or future. I work with
individuals and couples and offer a free 15-minute consultation to ensure you
feel we are a good fit.
In our work together, you can expect an integrative
approach, drawing from several therapeutic modalities, tailored to your
specific goals and needs. I draw from modalities such as cognitive-behavioural
therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, emotion-focused therapy (EFT),
existential therapy, and Imago therapy, among others. I will work with you to
explore your emotions, thoughts, and behavior patterns, while addressing deeper
relational and emotional dynamics. My goal is to create a non-judgemental and compassionate
space to explore your experiences, gain insight, and take steps towards
personal growth and healing. I want you to feel both empowered and supported as
you navigate life’s challenges.
As a South Asian Canadian, witnessing the stigma facing
mental health in the BIPOC community, and the shocking underrepresentation of
the BIPOC community in research for mental health was one of the reasons I was
drawn to becoming a psychotherapist. I believe in leading with a
culturally-sensitive lens to accommodate for the increasingly multicultural
community seeking support for mental health. I can offer sessions in English,
Hindi and Urdu.
