I’m an authentic and reliable counsellor who has a passion for helping people through difficult times.

Professional Background:
I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) and a Masters of Counselling (MC). I have been a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) since 2015 and have worked in both private practice and community settings across the North Shore and Greater Vancouver. I provide counselling and psychological assessment services, having worked with individuals, couples, and families from a variety of demographic backgrounds and ages, including those from the 2SLGBTQI+, neurodiverse, and Indigenous communities.

Therapeutic Approach:
I strive to truly get to know the people I work with and have a passion for understanding the nature of people’s mental wellbeing. I use an integrated therapeutic approach with foundations in a client-centered, holistic perspective, taking into consideration all factors which may influence one’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. I use a combination of active listening, empathy and reflection, along with practical strategies one may implement in their life. The predominate modalities used in my integrative approach include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)/adapted versions for specific disorders, Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Social Rhythms Theory (IPSRT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Benefits of Therapy with Me:
I take a more active and direct approach to therapy whereby I’ve found the most success with clients where there is a balance of talk therapy and active strategies. I help facilitate open and non-judgemental communication of one's experience, while supporting clients to make positive change based on what feels right for them. The benefits of my integrative approach allows for a collaboration in the therapeutic relationship, to know how much discussion versus action strategies is needed for personal growth.

Psychological Assessment Services:
I provide psychological assessments under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist, Dr. Francois Botha. I conduct psycho-diagnostic (e.g., anxiety, trauma, depression, personality disorders) and psycho-educational (e.g., ADHD) types of assessments for youth and adults. The assessment process involves a full clinical interview, possible collateral information, and standardized testing measures. A final report summarizes the findings, provides results (including any DSM-5-TR diagnoses), and offers treatment recommendations. Letters of accommodation can be provided upon request.

Personal Qualities:
It may be helpful to know that I practice what I preach, emphasize humility, and use a strong sense of empathy to connect in a therapeutic way. I value quality of relationships, health and fitness, as well as personal growth and development. When I'm not working, you’ll most likely find me hiking in the local mountains, or baking in the kitchen.
