Hi I’m Amun, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).

Many of us move through life’s unexpected challenges without the care and support we need or deserve. Whether you are experiencing daily work-life stressors, relational stress,  navigating major life-transitions (such as grief, birth, trauma), my hope is to provide a welcoming space to develop awareness of unprocessed thoughts, behaviours and feelings keeping you stuck.

Benefits of Working Together:Together, we can explore practical ways to help you confidently manage life’s uncertainties, experience joy, and live a life aligned with your values. I work from an anti-oppressive, feminist and trauma-informed approach and support individuals & couples.

I think we could be a great fit if….
  • You’re struggling with the ability to cope and manage distressing feelings  including feelings of overwhelm, anger or apathy
  • You’re ready to explore your true identity and core values outside of societal expectations and reconnect with  yourself
  • Curious and ready to dismantle the impact of various systems of oppression
  • You’re tired of feeling stuck and unfulfilled
  • You're looking for a therapist who is compassionate, non-judgemental and genuinely wants to support you in feeling less alone
  • You’re seeking clarity, fulfillment, purpose, balance and calm
  • You are ready to process and work through feelings such as low self-esteem, unhappiness, anxiety and anger

Some of my areas of specialisation include:

Couples & Family Relationships (including exploration of dynamics & concerns such as: enmeshment, co-dependency, people pleasing, attachment wounds, intergenerational trauma & boundary setting)

Trauma, Grief & C-PTSD

Motherhood, Parenthood & Fertility including loss, postpartum anxiety, depression, rage

Burnout, Mental Load, Work-Life Balance

Identity Exploration including  themes such as: gender, values, personality, purpose & existential meaning of life

 My Experience:

I’ve received additional trainings in Birth/Reproductive Trauma, Perinatal Mental Health, IFS, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Gottman-Method Couples Therapy. I work from a Psychodynamic, attachment lens incorporating inner-child work and somatic processing. I also integrate modalities such as: IFS, EFT, and lend from DBT & CBT for immediate strategies. Human experiences are meant to be shared, including our pain. Together, lets can amend the story you’ve been telling yourself that is no longer serving you.

I support birthing parents during any/all stages +seasons of their reproductive journey including loss, trauma, and experience of PMAD’s (perinatal mood disorders such as anxiety, depression or rage). My interest in providing support peaked through my own journey whereby my previous ways of managing were no longer serving me.

I focus on helping parents explore their birth story, matrescence,  and redefining identities during this season of life including how to show up for themselves through the feelings of guilt, overwhelm and exhaustion.

Additionally, I believe that relationships are a key determinant to one’s mental health.

I focus on unpacking dysfunctional relational dynamics commonly experienced in one’s family of origin such as: enmeshment, co-dependency and people pleasing. Together, we may explore early attachment styles, underlying trauma wounds including intergenerational trauma and communicating healthy boundary setting.

Lastly, I also work with couples and individuals who are seeking to strengthen their relationship bonds and appreciation for one another by identifying potential negative interaction cycles, fostering respectful communication and repair focused on understanding each other’s needs.
