Couple/Marriage counseling services are often tailored to the concerns of the client couple. We can examine any issues involved in your relationship, and then develop ideas and strategies to work on creating change. This is not the place to fight or argue, but rather to work on things like communication, mutual responsibility, and awareness of each other's needs. It requires both parties to be present at every session, and to be willing to work for the relationship.

Every couple is unique- what works for some, does not work for all. In a nonjudgmental and non-pathologizing space, I help couples of all kinds to create the relationship that will meet both partner's needs. Through thoughtful, heartfelt and insightful discussions, we will arrive together at the model that works best for you and your relationship, and together we can resolve old wounds to help you come together again to support one another with love and kindness.

The goal in Couples Counseling is to reroute the patterns that cause distancing and wall-building between couples. This creates a space that fosters tighter bonding and a team orientation. Couples Counseling teaches individuals how to disarm communication that leads to conflict, increasing the couple's sense of intimacy, and restoring the respect and affection often lost in the process of learning to live together. Couples learn to remove the barriers that lead to stagnancy in relationship. The hard truth is that couples fight. Feelings get hurt. People often feel betrayed. Relationships can be turned around as couples learn to fight effectively, with the intent to resolve, not to "win!"
