Addiction is about more than alcohol, drugs, sex, food, etc. It’s an attempt to satisfy the lack of something deeper in our lives, and to cover over our pain. Addictions not only affect the person addicted, but they wreak havoc on our relationships. I work with addicted individuals as well as their partners or family members to help everyone cope with the addiction in ways that foster healing. I work with drug and alcohol addiction, gambling and sex addiction. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). My practice provides treatment for the Sex Addict as well as their Partners, and helps couples walk through each stage of the restoration process.

I work with clients struggling with addiction to have the support to address and work through the underlying emotional hurts. As clients work through and replace their addictive behaviors with healthier ones, they see their confidence return and a new ability to find and maintain healthy relationships.

Uncomfortable, powerful feelings from negative life experiences can cause some people to turn to the use of addictive subtances (alcohol, opiods, etc...) or behaviors (gambling, sexual choices, etc..) to provide relief from these feelings. When the use of these substances or behaviors increases to the point that it becomes a problem, or even unmanageable and paralyzing, then it needs to be addressed. My approach is to provide practical tools to help manage the addiction, while also unpacking the causes for the need for the substances or behaviors in the first place, and finding hope in the restoration of a life without addiction.

Sex addiction is difficult for everyone involved. It affects relationships, self-esteem, and the ability to enjoy your life to the fullest. Sex addiction is rarely about sex itself, and is often rooted in deeper issues. I offer a non-judgemental environment for those with sex addiction to explore the underlying causes of their behavior, while providing a customized approach towards healing.
