Depression can impact us both mentally and manifest as physical symptoms. During session 1 we will test for depression, and again after we have worked together for awhile, allowing you to see tangible results of improvement in your symptoms.

I work with a depressed nervous system by working with the body. Often we struggle to sleep, eat, or accomplish relatively simple tasks. Our bodies are stuck with the brake on. When our body thinks it is futile, out mind follows quickly thereafter and we begin to tell ourselves how pointless things are and how worthless we are. I work with the whole body to re-regulate the body to enable you to get back to a whole integrated self.

Exploring and identifying triggers as well as contributing factors tat are fueling clients symptoms of depression is the main focus when beginning to work together. After awareness is developed client will have a better understanding of where adjustments can be made. Adjustments may include; creating a healthier self care routine, creating a healthier work/life balance, engaging in as well as exploring new hobbies, engaging in healthy social interactions, etc.

Relationship counseling and learning new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving regarding marital conflict and intimacy deficits are a proven, effective way to overcome these types of depression. Many of my clients have learned to combine their existing pharmacotherapies with marital counseling--which is a particularly effective and empirically proven combination.

EMDR, Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing, has been proven effective for depression and anxiety. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy has also been proven effective for Treatment Resistant Depression for those whom traditional pharmaceutical interventions (Prozac, Wellbutrin, etc.) were not tolerated or ineffective. We offer Ketamine Assisted Therapy under medical supervision with appropriate screening and post-treatment observation by an ER physician with over 20 years of experience with Ketamine administration.
