As human beings, we each grow up with a family of origin that is dysfunctional at some level because every family is made of of imperfect humans! It is amazing what taking a look at how our perceptions of life, love, God, money, the world around us, etc. is formed and how that impacts who we are and how we act today. It is never about blame, but it is often about finding real truth and forgiveness and learning how to move on and become your true authentic self!

In my approach to psychotherapy, I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities to a Christian foundation to provide the best and tailored experience for my clients. Psychoeducation is a key component, as I believe in empowering individuals with knowledge about their mental and emotional health and equipping them with strategies. I also incorporate Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), to address emotional blockages and promote emotional healing. Furthermore, I draw upon the principles of existential therapy to explore clients' search for meaning and personal growth. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), techniques to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs.

Individual counseling may be oriented towards helping clients achieve their goals for their own personal development. People can grow, develop, and have positive change happen in their core beliefs, well into later stages of life. Younger or even mid-life clients may present with problems regarding sexuality or being at peace with their single sexuality. The Master Designer created us as sexual beings and much of my practice is aimed at helping clients overcome sexual anorexia or the other end of that continuum, sexual addiction and/or pornography addiction (with the added markers of distress being present.) Sex Therapy from a Christian perspective is a large part of my practice.
